1. Nevin, Omar, Pat and Rick shared 385 stamps. The ratio of the number of stamps Nevin received to the total number of stamps received by Omar, Pat and Rick was 1 : 4. Omar received 40% of the total number of stamps received by  Pat and Rick. Pat received 9/11  as many stamps as Rick.

(a)    What was the ratio of the number received by Nevin to the number of stamps received by Rick?


(b)    How many stamps did Omar and Pat received together?

1.  $1.60 × 4 + $0.80 = $7.20  
He pays $7.20 for 5 chicken wings.

 $110 ÷ $7.20 = 15 R $2     
 15 × 5 + 1 = 76
He can buy 76 chicken wings

     0.25 ® 180    (women)
      540 + 180 = 720 (adults)
      60% ® 720

     100% ® 1200          
     1200 – 720 = 480 (children)
      480 – 276 = 204 (boys)
       (204 / 1200) x 100% = 17%

marbles in Box A are transferred to Box B, the number of marbles in each box becomes equal. Find the total number of marbles in the two boxes.



3.  The average mass of a group of children is 22 kg. When a boy who
weighs 28 kg joins the group, the average mass becomes 22.75 kg.
How many children are there in the group now?

1.A container was 80% filled with water. When 480 ml of water was poured out, it became 1/2 full. Find the capacity of the container.

2.  Siti and her sister shared some stickers in the ratio 5 : 8. After their cousin gave 28 stickers to each of them, the ratio became 3 : 4. Find the total number of stickers the girls had at first.
 

3.  At a party, the average number of sweets given to 24 boys was 25. The average number of sweets given to the girls was 20. If the average number of sweets given to the children was 22, how many girls were at the party?

                            1.Alice went shopping and spent all her money in 5 shops. In each                                     shop, she spent $10 more than what she had spent in the                                                previous shop. If she spent $150 at the  last shop, how                                                     much did Alice have at first?

 


                             2.  Surin organized a barbeque party. He spent $45 on chicken wings                                  and  1/5 of his  remaining money on drinks. If he had 1/2 of his                                        original sum of money left, how much money did he have at first?


                      3. Mrs Tan made 95 chicken pies and apple pies. Each chicken pie cost                              $1.20. Each apple pie cost 35¢ less than a chicken pie. If she sold all                          the chicken and apple pies and collected $88.10, how many apple pies                          did she make?
